Looking Back on 2011

This has been a hell of a year! Looking back to this time last year. We've had hurricanes, floods, volcano eruptions, tornadoes, tsunamis, drought, and a nuclear event. Makes you wonder, was the Mayans right?

It sure has been a busy year for me. I've produced a documentary which is finishing up now, I've shot several weddings, done tons of DVD authoring and had several articles published. It has been a prosperous year for me. But as i watch the news i know there are far more less fortunate.

Somehow I eked out a living this year and next year looks to be even better. This has been a year of growth. My company, which I spend much time on is doing well. I've traveled and had some great times with friends, and I've learned to trust in myself and my talents much more. Looking back this has been a year to begin concentrating more on me and less on distractions. A year of discovering self discipline.

My wife and I are very close and she has helped me more than anything to get this business rolling. And we have had our little adventures along the way. In fact we have a trip planned for the end of the year. I always enjoy getting out and going somewhere with her.

Looking forward to 2012 I wonder what the year will bring? We have a couple of trips planned and new projects that will keep me busy but i also wonder about the larger picture. Where will the world go? We have a presidential election next year and the economy is in bad shape. Plus there are global and climate changes coming. It seems somehow the whole world is in stress mode.

Riots fill the streets, protests here and there and the planet itself seems to be acting or reacting
to it all. This has been building up since Katrina, perhaps since 9-11. Perhaps even further back? The Mayans predicted the coming of a new age. Changes in the wind, and the dawning of a new beginning. How did they know this new year would be so volatile?

I'm not one that believes the world will end on December 21, 2012.
But I do think some radical changes are in store for us, and some of them may not be pleasant.

It's going to get worse before it gets better. I think the universe is trying to show us a big picture. A time when transition into a new environment is approaching, including social, economic, and geographical change. It's up to us to learn the lessons and head the warnings. However, sadly I do not think anyone is listening in the din of all the confusion that surrounds us.

What will 2012 bring? Prosperity? Growth? New Beginnings?
